I met Craig and Courtney in August and when they told me they were getting married in January, I jokingly commented that it will probably be the one weekend in all of winter that we get a snow storm.

Did you recently get engaged over Christmas and the holidays? Congratulations! Now is the most exciting time, finally getting to plan the day you've always dreamed about. I've been seeing a lot of inquiries lately, and I'm getting super pumped to work with some of the sweetest couples in 2017.
I wanted a way to acknowledge the painful things we face today, in surrendering the things we have no control over. For me, it was a baby long awaited for and taken far too soon. For others it's having a job that you love and are passionate about. For many others it's a spouse, or owning a home, or having a relationship with a dad you never knew. A mom who left you, or a spouse taken too soon.
Thank you, a million times thank you, to each person I worked with this past year. I prayed for every single one of you before every single session. I asked God to allow me bless you and to create a space for joy and fun memories in your life. For your photos to be what your heart desired. I know I didn't get it perfect every time. No one can. But I hope that your memories are cherished, and I hope that you felt loved and cared for.
I spent a long time envisioning a session like this, and it was truly a dream come true. Ricky and Elizabeth hosted my husband and I when we took a short vacation to Colorado in August. They housed us, drove us everywhere, and took us on the absolute BEST adventures. Gifting them with photos to celebrate their 5th anniversary was the least I could do to thank them for such an amazing time.
Do you remember the first few weeks with your newborn? Yeah, me neither. Which is why I LOVE THESE PHOTOS. Oh they tell such a raw and honest story. One that is silly and crazy, but ultimately full of intense love for this new tiny human. Photographing families at home never, ever gets old.
In September 2014, after many months of discovering beautiful birth photography work, I decided it was something I could really love and get into. But now I'm saying adieu, and I'm sharing my journey and reasons why.
I looked at the weather forecast and became a little nervous. We were already pushing a pretty tight deadline to get Kelsie's bridals done, ahem, before the day of her wedding. I was zooming in to the exact photo location and meteorologist me was trying to track projectories! I texted Kelsie and said we're doing this - it's gonna happen!
I've talked a lot in the past about how newborn photos are highly unpredictable. Things often don't go according to our own plans. That's never been more true than with this family.
